The utilisation of Power-to-X technologies is a necessary key component of the ongoing energy transition and carbon-neutrality ambitions. They make it possible to produce renewable fuels, such as hydrogen, methane and ammonia, with zero emissions using wind and solar power. This opens up a source of clean energy for sectors where direct electrification is difficult, including various industries as well as heavy and long-distance transportation. They also enable storing surplus electricity from wind and solar power plants in a transferrable form.

Commercial use of these technologies is emerging also in Finland, and Fimpec is at the leading edge of this development. As early as in 2014 we participated in the implementation of Woikoski Oy’s Mäntyharju plant’s  hydrogen production, refuelling stations and hydrogen containers in Kokkola.  Now we are partnering with P2X Solutions and Nordic Ren-Gas on their pilot projects.

We can offer our customers relevant expertise and consulting services, all the way from concept design to plant construction and commissioning. Our services cover the dimensioning of production plants, plant concepts and designs, procurements, and the actual construction projects.  We have capabilities to account for the process parameters set by the selected final product (hydrogen, methane, ammonia), carbon capture, the significance of waste heat utilisation, as well as the comparisons between electrolysers and other technologes.
