Fimpec Featured as a Case Example in the Finland Chamber of Commerce Climate Program: Expert Organization’s Climate Action in Practice
Fimpec’s Mila Viksilä and Panu Rahikka took part in the Finland Chamber of Commerce Climate Program Autumn 2025 kick-off, held on August 27, 2025, at Kulttuurikasarmi in Helsinki. Fimpec had been invited to the event to present its practical climate work and share its experiences with the approximately 150 companies in attendance.
The Climate Program, organized by the Finland Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by the insurance company LähiTapiola, is aimed at small and medium-sized Finnish companies. The program supports businesses in their climate efforts by offering training, industry-specific sparring, and concrete tools for carbon footprint calculation. Fimpec is a participant in the program and last spring received the Carbon Footprint Calculated label from the Finland Chamber of Commerce after calculating and reporting its Scope 1 and 2 carbon dioxide emissions in accordance with the GHG Protocol.
The Kick-off event, moderated by Riku Rantala, featured three guest presentations in addition to the hosts’ speeches: Panu Rahikka showcased Fimpec’s practical climate and environmental work, Noora Lindberg presented the responsibility efforts of the Suominen Corporation, and Hilppa Gregow from the Finnish Meteorological Institute shared recent research findings on climate and climate change. After the presentations, participants had the opportunity for informal networking.
“The event exceeded expectations – we received positive feedback on our presentation and visibility for Fimpec as a responsible company. Participating in the Climate Program has been worthwhile – and the work continues. This year, in addition to calculating our Scope 1 and 2 emissions, we will also assess our Scope 3 upstream emissions and set concrete climate targets. The Climate Program provides us with valuable support in this work,” commented Panu Rahikka after the event.
