The energy sector plays a key role in reducing climate emissions, but increasing attention is also being paid to biodiversity – the diversity of nature. A key concept in this development is nature positivity, which was discussed by Silja Valta, Executive Director of World Energy Council Finland, in Fimpec’s Kumppanit podcast.

Building Information Modeling (BIM) and 3D engineering offer great opportunities to avoid problems during the construction phase caused by inconsistencies or deficiencies in engineering plans. However, achieving conflict-free engineering requires precise compatibility between the plans of different parties. The best way to ensure this is by involving a BIM coordinator in the project.

Folkhälsan is building a new residential complex with 82 apartments in South Haaga, Helsinki, offering communal living. Fimpec has been involved in the project from the early stages, driving forward the construction of a building that meets the updated Social Welfare Act’s requirements for communal living and emphasizes sustainable solutions.

Metsä Fibre’s Joutseno pulp mill, part of Metsä Group, had its baling facility building declared off-limits in September 2024 due to potential safety risks detected in the roof structures. The repair and reinforcement work, crucial for the mill’s operations, was completed in just over two weeks under Fimpec’s leadership in November 2024.
