We have been involved in numerous wind power projects since the late 2010s. This decade, solar power and hybrid projects that combine the advantages of wind and solar power have been added. We have been responsible for pre-studies, engineering phases, cost management, procurement, scheduling, construction management, and/or supervision.

Heating is becoming electrified, and as the use of fossil fuels becomes more expensive, heat pumps and electric boilers are already profitable investments. In the future, they will be increasingly needed in a diverse district heating production palette. We possess deep expertise in these areas, supplemented by our electrical and automation expertise.

We offer services to our clients in an EPCM or OE role or as an engineering partner according to their needs. Our services include consulting related to sizing, optimizing, and integrating heat pumps and electric boilers into district heating systems, various surveys, concept developments, and studies, preliminary and detailed engineering tasks, as well as project management and construction management services.

Energy storage will play a significant role in the future in wind and solar power production and in district heating and cooling systems. Electrical storages built in connection with wind and solar power provide a way to increase the flexibility in the power system. Rapidly common district heat storage helps in optimizing production, which becomes more important as heat production electrifies and electricity prices fluctuate. They also offer a way to aim for carbon neutrality in heat production.

At Fimpec, we are prepared for upcoming developments and manage the various implementation options for energy storage. We are also continuously involved in various energy storage projects. We are currently involved in Exilion’s Simon Solar Park project, which includes an electric storage part. Previously, we participated in Helen’s Mustikkamaa rock heat storage project, which has been one of the largest heat storage projects in Finland.

At Fimpec, our expertise in energy networks focuses particularly on district heating networks and upcoming hydrogen networks. We have profound expertise in district heating networks from both Finland and Estonia from our subsidiary, HeatConsult Oü. Over the past ten years, we have been involved in well over 700 district heating projects, so we deeply understand the current state of district heating networks, future needs, and the opportunities to meet these needs both in terms of engineering and construction management. In addition, we have the ability to engineer and implement electrical substations required for power transmission.

Hydrogen networks are still new to everyone, but we are preparing ourselves for future projects being prepared across Europe. In this, we utilize our extensive knowledge of the hydrogen economy and our experience from gas networks.

The need for efficient use of energy and related new energy solutions is continuously growing across various industrial sectors. We offer expertise and advisory services for designing and implementing energy-efficient solutions for different industrial sectors.

Our services may include integrating renewable energy sources and heat recovery systems into factory operations, optimizing processes to be more energy-efficient, and evaluating and selecting technological solutions. We also help our clients navigate regulations and standards related to energy efficiency and new energy solutions, as well as assessing the economic viability of investments.

Various biogases play a significant role in the ongoing energy transition. Along with green hydrogen and its derivatives, biogas and biomethane are heavily relied upon in the clean transition. They will be an important part of the future intelligent energy system due to their good efficiency and storability. They also offer solutions for reducing emissions in transportation.

At Fimpec, we have extensive experience and expertise in engineering and constructing various gas production facilities, networks, distribution stations, and usage points. We can provide our clients with expert knowledge and consulting from concept-level engineering to implementation, supervision, and commissioning.

Hydropower plays a crucial role in enabling the clean transition, and therefore, related projects are an important part of our operations. Our comprehensive project management services are available for hydropower projects from the engineering phase through the construction management and supervision tasks. On the engineering side, our strengths include strong electrical automation expertise and equipment engineering capabilities.

We have been involved in designing and constructing several eco-power plants around the world, where non-recyclable, combustible waste is turned into energy. When needed, we still possess the expertise to implement these plants. We understand the needs and technologies of eco-power plants, both in terms of engineering and construction management.
