Story of Fimpec
our history
The current Fimpec was born in 2021 when the engineering company CTS Engtec Oy, the project management specialist Fimpec Oy, and the energy sector project management and consulting company Fundacon Oy began operating under the common name Fimpec. The journey to this turning point began as far back as the 1970s.

Establishment of the Batteries and Critical Minerals (FBCM) business unit
The new business unit develops and offers services for the needs of the mining industry and mineral processing. The establishment of this unit reflects Fimpec’s commitment to investing in the battery value chain and critical minerals.

Expansion of operations in Sweden
Fimpec opens a new branch in Kiruna, Northern Sweden. Previously, Fimpec had offices in Stockholm and Västerås.

Fimpec sells SystemTest OÜ
SystemTest OÜ, which offered comprehensive automation system deliveries, was sold to Eimer Automaatika OÜ.

Fimpec acquires Chemitec Consulting Oy
Chemitec Consulting Oy, based in Espoo and established in 1986, was an engineering consultancy specializing in chemical engineering, process engineering, energy industry, environmental engineering, and mineral processing. In 2022, the company had seven employees, with a revenue of 1.5 million euros in 2021.

Helen’s DHC network planning and construction team moves to Fimpec
The transfer of a four-member team supports Fimpec’s expertise in district heating networks.

Fimpec acquires Byggnadsekonomi Oy’s business
Byggnadsekonomi, based in Espoo, was a pioneer in building information modeling and cost and schedule management. Established in 2010, the company employed a total of 15 people, 10 in Finland and 5 in Sweden, with a revenue of 1.6 million euros in 2020.

Revenue exceeds 30 million euros
Fimpec’s revenue in 2021, focusing on growth and internationalization, reached 30.3 million euros, with 268 employees at the end of the year.

Fimpec acquires Focusplan Oy
Focusplan Oy, based in Turku, offered high-quality technical engineering, project management, and consulting services to various industrial sectors. Established in 1988, the company employed 30 people at the time of acquisition, with a revenue of 2.7 million euros in 2020.

Formation of the Fimpec group
CTS Engtec Oy, Fimpec Oy, and Fundacon Oy began operating under the common name Fimpec on May 26, 2021. Simultaneously, the group company Smaragdus Oy changed its name to Fimpec Group Oy. Fimpec defines itself as a top specialist in project management and engineering.
