Fimpec Group Oy’s AGM 2025: Moving forward by focusing on profitability

The Annual General Meeting of Fimpec Group Oy was held on April 30, 2025. The meeting approved the financial statements for 2024 and discussed the auditor’s report. The AGM unanimously discharged the members of the Board of Directors and the CEO from liability.

Year 2024: From large projects towards a broader customer base

For Fimpec, the year 2024 was a time of completion of significant major projects. The turnover exceeded EUR 50 million, which reflects the company’s strong position, especially in projects for the forest industry, energy sector and clean transition of basic industry. During 2024, Fimpec handed over to Stora Enso the main documentation for the detailed design of the Oulu mill’s board machine conversion, which took almost two years, and concluded Helen’s Hanasaari EPCM boiler project and started a large heat pump project for Helen in Patola, also under the EPCM contract model. A significant number of Fimpec experts worked in support of SSAB in the Luleå green steel mill investment project. In addition to these major projects, Fimpec employees worked on almost 400 other assignments in the fields of industry, energy sector and built environment.

Personnel and expertise at the center

Fimpec’s success is based on competent and committed personnel. The number of employees in the Group (420 at the end of 2024) did not increase significantly, but new developing services were supported by targeted recruitment. For example, it was decided to strengthen environmental impact assessment, permitting, project management and industrial structural engineering. In Sweden, the number of employees was adjusted to the specified market strategy, and, in Estonia, the number of employees was slightly decreasing.

Sustainability and responsibility

Sustainability is at the core of Fimpec’s strategy. In 2024, the company began preparing for European sustainability reporting and acquired certificates of sustainability activities. Fimpec experts worked on several projects that promote energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy sources and biomaterials.

New board to support strategic growth

The Annual General Meeting elected a new Board of Directors, which brings diverse expertise and experience to support Fimpec’s strategic growth and development. The members of the Board are Sampo Ahonen (Chairman), Timo Hyvönen, Ilkka Starck, Pekka Salomaa and Matti Hyytiäinen. The deputy member is Mats Åkerblom. Jukka Nieminen will continue as Fimpec’s CEO.

Fimpec thanks its staff, customers and partners for 2024. The company continues its determined work for a renewable industry, energy transition and a sustainable built environment.
